Le Kit d'Inventeur SparkFun (SIK) pour Arduino Uno est un excellent moyen de commencer la programmation et l'interaction matérielle avec le langage de programmation Arduino. Le SIK comprend tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour réaliser cinq projets globaux composés de 16 circuits interconnectés qui enseignent tout, du clignotement d'une LED à la lecture des capteurs. Le projet culminant est votre propre robot autonome. Aucune expérience préalable en programmation ou en électronique n'est requise pour utiliser ce kit.

Le guide en ligne contient des instructions étape par étape avec des schémas de circuit et des tableaux de branchement pour la construction de chaque projet et circuit avec les pièces incluses. Un exemple de code complet est fourni, les nouveaux concepts et composants sont expliqués au point d'utilisation, et des conseils de dépannage offrent une assistance en cas de problème.

Le kit ne nécessite aucune soudure et est recommandé pour les débutants de 10 ans et plus qui recherchent un kit de démarrage Arduino. Pour la version 4.1 de SIK, nous avons adopté une approche entièrement différente de l'enseignement de l'électronique embarquée. Dans les versions précédentes du SIK, chaque circuit se concentrait sur l'introduction d'une nouvelle technologie.

Avec SIK v4.1, les composants sont introduits dans le contexte du circuit que vous construisez, et chaque circuit s'appuie sur le dernier, conduisant à un projet qui incorpore tous les composants et concepts présentés dans le guide. Avec de nouvelles pièces et une toute nouvelle stratégie, même si vous avez déjà utilisé le SIK, vous êtes dans une toute nouvelle expérience!

Cette version du SIK remplace le SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic par l'Arduino Uno (version SMD) et est livrée sans le guide et l'étui de transport SIK. Ces composants étant échangés et retirés, nous avons pu réduire la taille et le poids globaux du kit, ce qui rend l'expédition moins chère et plus facile pour quiconque commande à l'étranger.

Renesas et MinebeaMitsumi proposent des solutions de moteurs pas à pas pour robots avec kit d'évaluation

 

Renesas Electronics Corporation and MinebeaMitsumi, Inc. announced the joint development of resolver-based (angle sensor) stepping motor and motor control solutions, including an evaluation kit, optimized for use in robots, office automation (OA) equipment, and medical/nursing care equipment. These applications require motors with higher precision motor control, miniaturized form factors, and improved resistance to environmental influences.

Working in collaboration, Renesas and MinebeaMitsumi have developed resolver sensor-based stepping motors and motor control solutions that address these application requirements.

MinebeaMitsumi has a strong track record with resolver sensors for automotive applications and, for the first time, has developed a new resolver for stepping motors to be used in consumer and industrial equipment applications such as robots, OA equipment, and medical/nursing care equipment. Renesas has developed a new resolver-to-digital converter (RDC) that supports MinebeaMitsumi’s new stepping motors, as well as control driver software for controlling the RDC with a 32-bit RX MCU.

Renesas also provides a resolver-based stepping motor control kit, which includes development tools, including MinebeaMitsumi’s stepping motor with resolver and an evaluation board with RDC, allowing users to jump-start application development.

“I am extremely pleased that we were able to develop superb products with the cooperation of Renesas, which provides superlative control technologies,” said Katsutoshi Suzuki, Technical Officer, Deputy Officer in charge of Electronics Engineering Development at Engineering Headquarters at MinebeaMitsumi. “I am hoping that this advance in product differentiation for our resolver stepping motors will allow us to acquire new markets.”

“Our cooperative effort with MinebeaMitsumi will allow stepping motors to be used in a wider range of applications,” said Roger Wendelken, Senior Vice President and Head of the Broad-based MCU Business Division, IoT and Infrastructure Business Unit at Renesas.

“Our joint collaboration offers customers a solution with everything needed for resolver stepping motor development, including motors, RDCs, MCUs, software and tools, enabling them to accelerate their motor development and shorten their time-to-market,” concluded Wendelken.

FEATURES OF THE NEW RESOLVER-BASED STEPPING MOTOR SOLUTIONS

Stepping motors with a resolver allow high-precision motor control even in harsh environments with heat, dust, or vibration. They also deliver superlative characteristics such as the ability to carry heavy loads without step-out. Renesas and MinebeaMitsumi have developed a new type of resolver stepping motor and resolver motor control solutions that claims superlative cost performance, which makes it possible to expand the range of applications for stepping motors.

For example, in robots or automated guided vehicle (AGV) development, customers can achieve high-precision motion even in harsh environments such as warehouses or the outdoors, while reducing costs and further miniaturizing industrial equipment by using smaller motors.

Key features of MinebeaMitsumi’s stepping motor with a resolver

  • High torque characteristics: 2 to 3 times as much torque compared to existing products due to no step-out control
  • Control characteristics: able to drive at broadband and ultra-low speeds
  • Low power consumption: current optimization by servo control that responds to the actual load
  • High precision: high position precision achieved by high resolution of 200,000 P/R
  • Environmental resistance: highly resistant to heat, dust, and vibration due to its simple structure
  • Miniaturization: the high torque of these motors makes miniaturizing application products possible

Key features of Renesas’ RDC and RDC control driver software

  • Detection methods: VR-type voltage detection, VR-type current detection
  • RX MCU support: Renesas supplies RDC driver software for the RX24T (support for other MCUs planned)
  • Resistance to electromagnetic noise: position detection is possible with a signal-to-noise ratio of 1/2 (noise twice the signal) due to the inclusion of filters

Renesas’ resolver-based stepping motor control kit

  • Included items: MinebeaMitsumi 42-mm square resolver stepping motor, control board, CPU board (includes the RDC and RX24T)
  • Development support tools: Renesas Motor Workbench (includes real-time waveform display functions)

AVAILABILITY

MinebeaMitsumi prévoit de commencer des livraisons d'échantillons des nouveaux moteurs pas à pas à base de résolveur en janvier 2020 avec une production de masse à partir d'avril 2020. Le kit de commande de moteur pas à pas basé sur résolveur de Renesas sera disponible en janvier 2020.

General-Purpose Multi-Output Power IC for Automotive Functional Safety

 

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced the launch of the TB9045FNG, a general-purpose system power IC with multiple outputs achieving functional safety for automotive applications. The new IC is available in four versions, with output voltages ranging from 1.1V to 1.5V. Mass production is scheduled to start this month.

More and more safety-critical automotive systems, such as electric power steering (EPS) and braking, are required to meet the requirements of ASIL-D, the highest automotive safety integrity level prescribed in the ISO 26262 functional safety standards.

The new IC integrates various failure detection functions, such as high-voltage and low-voltage detection, overheat detection, and frequency monitoring of power supply circuit, to monitor against the IC’s own failure, and a watchdog timer to monitor failure detection of the external microcontroller. An initial diagnosis circuit to detect latent faults in the failure detection circuits is also incorporated to secure higher functional safety.

Toshiba has also carried out a range of functional safety analyses to simulate system failures and will provide customers with documentation, such as functional safety FMEDA, to support overall safety analysis and design.

Main Features

  • Built-in buck-boost dc-dc converter
    • The IC generates 6V output from a high efficiency buck-boost dc-dc converter.
    • In consideration of voltage drop after idling reduction, the low side operating voltage range is improved down to 2.7V (min.) with battery operation.
  • Built-in buck dc-dc converter (Voltage selectable)
    • The 6V input power generated by the buck-boost DC-DC converter is converted to output voltages of 1.1V (TB9045FNG-110), 1.2V (TB9045FNG-120), 1.25V (TB9045FNG-125), and 1.5V (TB9045FNG-150). The appropriate version of the new IC can be used as an external power supply for a core, based on the MCU specifications.
  • Built-in 4 series power supply circuits (4 outputs)
    • The IC incorporates four series power supply circuits receiving the 6V input generated by the dc-dc converter. It also incorporates a circuit with a 5V constant voltage (current capacity is 400mA) for the microcontroller, and three circuits with 5V constant voltage output (current capacity is 100mA) for sensors and other interfaces. Each of them can output a voltage independently.
  • Various built-in monitoring circuits for functional safety
    • Low-voltage detection circuit for battery power supply
    • High-voltage detection circuit for dc-dc converter (6V)
    • High-voltage / low-voltage detection circuits for the dc-dc converter (1.1V/1.2V/1.25V/1.5V) and series power supply (5V)
    • Overheat detection circuit
    • Oscillator frequency monitoring circuit
    • Watchdog timer circuit monitoring the external MCU
  • Diagnostic circuit for failure detection circuits for functional safety
    • A built-in diagnostic circuit in the failure detection circuit detects any latent faults.
  • Selectable operation for failure detections
    • Customers can set the system to respond to detected failures in one of two ways, using the SPI communication input setting. One setting outputs a reset signal to the system; the other provides notification of the abnormal operation to the system. Selection can be made according to the customer’s application or system.
